1) Look online to see what styles grab your attention and save the photos, along with the designer and style name/number. The last thing you want to do is have a photo of your dream gown, but you forget where you found it! The Knot and FashionBride are two of our favorite places to search for wedding gowns.
2) When working with a bridal gown consultant, ask to try on different styles and see what your consultant would recommend for you. Many times, the dress that you would not have picked out yourself, could really surprise you and end up being your perfect dress.
3) LOVE your dress. You should feel beautiful, and feel like a bride. Try to visit at least a couple of salons before deciding that a dress is "the one". Keep in mind that almost all gowns will need alterations to fit your body, so just because one is the perfect size already, it doesn't make it the right one.
4) After you buy your wedding gown, just remember: you love it, you can't wait to wear it at your wedding, and that's it. Do not keep looking for gowns, and avoid searching for gowns online or in magazines. Otherwise, there is a good chance that you'll be a two dress bride. There will almost always be a gown where you say "oh nooo.. I looove this dress!! I think it might be better than the one I got!!" So, you can avoid this situation by ending your dress search as soon as you buy your dress.
Now that you have some tips, here are some of our favorite gowns for the 2010 wedding season!
